Thoughts on Anastasha – day of life 220 from the DeLisis’

A quick snippet from a conversation in our house the other day that took me by surprise:

Ariana (11 years old, who is helping potty train her soon to be 3 year old brother, Cale) – “Cale, don’t go tee-tee on Elmo (on his big boy underwear). Do you know what happens if you go tee-tee on Elmo?”

Cale – “He tell Big Bird?” (which is funny since he’s seen maybe 3 episodes of Sesame Street in his entire life)

Ariana – “Right. Then what happens?”

Cale – “Big Bird kill me!.”

So our 3 year old is being potty trained in fear of being pecked to death by a 7 foot, yellow bird. What can I say, we get desperate after 6 months of trying.

We got back last week from our vacation to Alabama and Florida. Thank you so much for those who prayed for us. We had a wonderful, peaceful, and dare I say, relaxing time visiting with dear friends. The beach, as usual, was gorgeous and empty. We had ZERO issues with the pregnancy while we were gone. And I got to take my “baby” beach pictures like I have with all of our kids outside the womb (seen at bottom of email).

Today (August 29) I had the opportunity to see the recently-released gripping and informative documentary “Blood Money,” featuring several pro-life leaders: Dr. Alveda King (niece of Martin Luther King, Jr.), former abortion facility owner Carol Everett, Joe Scheidler, Norma McCorvey, Fathers Frank Pavone and Tom Euteneuer, Troy Newman and former abortionist Bernard Nathanson.

The film also features testimonies from post-abortive women, whose stories are gut-wrenching. For example, one woman recounts, in detail, the horrific experience of procuring a late-term abortion from the late George Tiller.

Another woman tearfully recounts having to tell her young daughter that she had an older sister. Told by her mother about the abortion, her daughter’s face took on an expression of fear, her mother said.

Illegal Abortion Myths: What Would America Look Like Without Abortions?

Illegal Abortion Myths: What Would America Look Like Without Abortions?

To those who came of age long after 1973, it’s understandably difficult to imagine America without legal abortion. After all, they can’t remember a time when abortions were not routinely carried out. They grew up thinking that, if birth control failed to prevent pregnancy, abortion was the back-up plan.

But even proponents of legal abortion have said they believe that Roe v. Wade’s days are numbered. They realize that the U.S. Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion could be overturned in our lifetime.

So the question becomes, what would an America without legal abortion look like?

Abortion supporters would have you believe that the major consequence of outlawing abortion is that deaths from illegal abortions will become epidemic. But history does not bear out that supposition.

Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a founder of the National Abortion Rights Action League who became pro-life, admitted that he lied about the number of women who perished from illegal abortions before 1973. Nathanson was quoted as saying, “We spoke of 5,000 ”“ 10,000 deaths a year”¦I confess that I knew the figures were totally false..it was a useful figure, widely accepted, so why go out of our way to correct it with honest statistics?”
